One of the oldest communities in de Purperen Draak, our Yu-Gi-Oh! community was started with the same idea you often see in supermarkets: a piece of paper with pre-cut strips containing a phone number "please add me on WhatsApp so we can play a battle or two. (still a great idea, Chris!)
What started with a handful of duelist grew rapidly into a local scene that actually had an impact. Team 'Pop da back row!' became a group of players who visited -and won- lots of tournaments, both in the Netherlands and in Europe. Their strength? They didn't focus on playing against competetive players, but also joined casual tournaments and play-and-trade events. The way they had to adapt, made their game play exceptional.

Those players became responsible adults, with jobs and responsibilities. Younger players joined and took over. But the lesson learned from Team Pop da backrow remained: in order to win, you have to learn and the best way to learn is to play... even if the deck isn't your regular deck.

Nowadays, our community still is inclusive with a focus on casual play. And we always have room for new players to learn from!
