So, this is us!

Probably the most difficult content to write, because we think we're just a small part of the store. Even though we are the people in purple, we can't make the store a succes without our volunteers, customers and players. Then again, it's always nice to introduce yourselves, so here we go!

There are so many people, where to start?

Let's start at the beginning. Back in 2010, the store started at Nieuwe Ebbingestraat 83 in Groningen. A little over 100m2 with 8 seats for players (yeah, we know, that was not enough). We started with just the owners, Hillie and Martijn.

We grew fast and within a year we had two people helping us. We hired them from a payroll company, having our own staff was still too scary. We continued to work with that payroll company and attracted another two people, one of them being Tim. During these years, we increased the playing area to 16 players, 24 if we really stretched!

In 2015 we moved to our current location. Over 200m2 and a dedicated playing area of 40 seats. A huge improvement, but too large for one full timer and two part timers. When Tim left to work at a school in 2016, Benjamin joined us. He was the first person to sign a contract with us instead of being on pay-roll, so all of a sudden we were employers. Oops, that's not what we anticipated. He's still part of the team though, so we did something good!

Early 2019, Marcus joins our ranks after making Martijn burgers every friday night for weeks. (yes, we have been bribed!) Rebecca started helping as a volunteer (prerelease weekend Throne of Eldraine, she insist we add this trivia) and made quite an impact.

And then covid became a thing. So, until 2022 nothing really changes. We chose to fight as a team, no-one left, no-one was let go, but we didn't have room for new people either. Covid made us realize our potential though, so as soon as the last lockdown ended, Tim returned and Rebecca signed a contract. In the summer, Quinten started as an intern and he signed a contract early 2023 to become a member of our team.

When Marcus left after five years (something with grass being greener, so now he works in nature management), Thom joined our ranks in the summer of 2024. In 2025, the latest addition to our team Lucía signed a contract. So... let's focus on the current staff!
