Within hours of their entry, the starship’s automated defenses activated, driving the mercenaries out and unleashing dangerous monsters and magical effects into the region, including the dreaded illumantula, a terrifying monster of magic, technology, and light. This starship was soon dubbed the Wreck of the Returned. Believing the Wreck of the Returned has a connection to the First Ones and is but the first step in a devastating invasion of the Pact Worlds, the Starfinder Society, under the leadership of First Seeker Sarmak, has founded a lodge in the surrounding Sloughscar Hills. Sarmak needs brave Starfinders to help establish and defend his fledgling lodge, explore the Wreck of the Returned, and prevent the First Ones from invading the Pact Worlds.
