In the future, the year is around 2087, the city of Groningen has changed from the little 'pittoresk' city into a big metropolis called "Granding" and has been divided by the big Mega Corps for control. In this city everything has been strictly regulated and controlled. On the bottom of society life is hard and people try to stay alive one way or the other. The more adventurous people are prepared to run in the shadows and work shady jobs provided by 'Johnsons'. These 'shadowrunning' jobs are most of the times very dangerous and highly illigal. But if it means to have another month of food on the table, credits to get a new (and probably illegal) cyber limb, or maybe another supply of addictive substances, it is worth living for.
